Many friends and acquaintances have asked me about my Dad and what he does exactly over in Kuwait. Typically I tell them that he is a Warrant Officer in the Army and that he is heavily involved in Logistics, which he is, but I haven’t really known all of the specifics.
So, for the benefit of all those around (including me), I decided to send Pop a good ‘ol fashioned email and ask him first hand about his duties are overseas.
I sent the email at around 11:30 PM my time, which is about 10:30 AM (11 hrs. ahead) his time,
and by the time I woke up I was excited to find that he had found time to answer my questions.
So, for those who were curious, enjoy.
Please feel free to comment with any other questions you might have. I know dad would be happy to answer them.

Daniel,
Thank you for taking the trouble to show us your dads duties in Kuwait. It was very informative. How about you do a post about your duties at home... you know sleeping, eating, more sleeping etc.!!!!

This is a fantastic post. Your dad is definitely in our prayers. I am truly amazed by the responsibility on his shoulders and how well he deals with it.
You said we could ask questions, and I have billions. I'll limit it to one, though. How many other people are there who do what your dad is doing? I realize there's only a tiny number of CW5's, but are there more CW5's or people with similar expertise that share in his responsibility? Not touching upon his specific duties, but it seems that his general area of responsibility is his and his alone. Is that true? Or is he apart of a core team? Is he basically independant in his ability, and responsibility in making the General's goals a reality within his purview of duties?
Second, what's the coolest piece of equipment he himself has had the chance to operate?
I have lots more, and I'm stopping now.
Great post! I knew your dad was stationed over there, but I wasn't sure what his official title was. :) Okay, I have one question for now...
"If there is a part of the day I look forward to it would be the morning, because I now know that I am one more day closer to going home to my family."
So, when y'all move to MD, I know your dad will be back for that, but will he have to return to Kuwait...or will he be staying in the states for a while?
Tiffany:
Thankfully he will be staying stateside, and as far as we know, wont have to take any more over seas tours.
Thanks for answering Jacqueline.
I could have sworn that I answered your question a while ago Tiffany, but for some reason its not here.
Brian, Dad recently returned from an extended stay in Kenya, so hopefully now that he is back to Kuwait he can answer that.
Thanks for the questions!
